Chronicle of the Draugr King - Chapter 1

For fans of my Draugr's Saga tales, Chronicles of the Draugr King provides some back story and the legend behind the great evil Aedan and his Viking friends awoke.

ABOUT THE SERIES:

Set in Dark Ages England, Scotland, and Ireland, Draugr’s Saga is a series of stories about a former Viking slave, Aedan. Adopted as a blood brother by Erik Ragnarsson, Aedan must find a way to stem the tide of the Draugr, which may bring about the Zombie Apocalypse of the Viking Age.
Throughout the Draugr’s Saga, Aedan enlists new friends and allies, makes dangerous enemies, and even finds love, as he travels Dark Ages Britain in a hopeless quest to stop the ancient Draugr King.
Draugr’s Saga weaves the most exciting threads of Norse Mythology, Celtic Mythology, Zombie Apocalypse fiction, all steeped in the gritty and violent Viking age. Though a dangerous time, it was a time of magic, a time when Viking Gods still roamed the land; it was a time when men and women travelled the spirit roads of Yggdrasil and divined their Wyrd with the Viking Runes.
Equal parts Historical Fiction, Epic Fantasy, and Norse Mythology, Draugr’s Saga explodes off the pages with gut-wrenching action and mind-bending magic.

Star Wolves - Chapters 1 & 2

Star Wolves, read by the author.

A Space Opera

- “Stargate meets Lord of the Rings!”

A century ago a beneficent alien race, the Alfar, uplifted mankind to the stars and unwittingly seeded their doom. Humanity had just begun to ply the dark interstellar seas and were wholly unprepared for the malevolent forces they would awaken.

When Haldor Olsen unearths an ancient alien technology, the Hrymar slavers learn about mankind, a lucrative new source of slaves—the basis of their interstellar economy.

The slavers obliterate mankind’s first extra-solar colony, enslaving or killing all 10,000 colonists—including Haldor’s wife and son.

Haldor seems to be the only one taking this new threat seriously. With a small but well trained crew, he travels hundreds of light-years in a frantic race around the Galaxy to save mankind from total enslavement. In the process, he’s forced to make a deal with the devil to ward off the coming tide of destruction.

ABOUT THE SERIES:

The Tribes of Yggdrasil series begins just over a century in our future, but it’s a time you might not recognize. A century has been shaped by contact with mankind’s mythological past and the intervention of ancient alien races. It’s a time where starships ply the stars, where Alfar build great living-cities on their planets, and where the Dvergar dominate the local stellar-economy. It’s a time where mankind meets a great evil, the Hrymar, a twisted offshoot of the elves, and it’s a time where the old Viking Gods walk among the stars.

* Read the first three chapters of the sequel, Star Fury, included with this book. Available now on Amazon.

A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR

So what is Star Wolves all about? In a nutshell, it starts out with humanity colonizing the stars, but their colonization efforts soon turn deadly as they encounter an evil, interstellar galactic-empire. Their exploration of local space causes the Hrymar to take notice of them as a new source of slaves, turning humanity’s space exploration into an advertisement for alien colonization and invasion. “Hey there! We’re new to space and ripe for the picking!”

This is not the first time this has happened. The same thing happened to the Britons who were left after the Roman Empire departed what is now England. The Britons bumped into the Anglo Saxons and invited them to help beat off the foul Picts to the North. Soon the Anglo Saxons were running the place.

In addition to being passionate about Science Fiction, Space Opera in particular, (Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate etc.), I’m also passionate about Norse Mythology. Star Wolves is my attempt at blending those genres. It’s equal parts Military Science Fiction and Space Opera, with some Norse Mythology DNA. If you enjoyed any of the Star Wars movies and the Thor movies (Thor, Thor: The dark world), then you’ll LOVE The Tribes of Yggdrasil series.

In addition to star spanning galactic empires, human colonization and some fast paced space fleet action, there’s also an overarching thread to do with an ancient evil crusade—I can’t say too much about that! You’ll read more about that as the series progresses.

I don’t try to make my books all things to all people, but you’ve got to have a good love story in any book, right? I mean, that’s human nature. Of course I have one here. No, this isn’t Science Fiction Romance, but there’s a character arc about a man and his family, and his love for them. My goal is to make this series as complete as possible. Life isn’t just about shoot-em up gunfights, or space exploration, or alien invasions, or even a love connection. A good story should resonate with the reader on many levels. I hope I nailed it.

Draugr’s Saga - Volume 2

Tales of the Zombie Apocalypse in the Viking Age

Back in Viking times, or more accurately, the Early Medieval period, the Draugr were an evil and malevolent force. They were like Zombies, but with powers like modern day Vampires. They were NOT stupid shambling corpses. They were fast, cunning, and above all - Evil.

Draugr's Saga - Volume 2

Our Hero is rescued from the sea and unwittingly brings doom to a fisherman’s family. He escapes with their beautiful daughter, but can he keep her alive?
After battling the evil Draugr, losing his foster-brother Erik, and being stranded at sea, Aedan is rescued by a fisherman. His fortune becomes their misfortune, and once he again Aedan is running for his life, only this time, with the fisherman’s daughter in tow.
Aedan makes an oath to keep the beautiful Chivonne alive, and together they fight for survival on the sea, and in the wild forests of Scotland, where Aedan must face savage tribesmen who think he is a Northman - the men who raid their villages, burn their homes and rape their wives and daughters.
Will our hero live to fight another day?

Earth is still reeling from the Hrymar Holocaust. Many of her major cities are still burning after millions were exterminated in nuclear bombardment, and thousands more taken off-world as slaves.

The Yggdrasil Codex - Introduction

Introduction to "The Yggdrasil Codex"

Who are we? Why are we here? Are we all there is?

Profound questions that few have answers for, though mankind continues to ask, apparently to deaf heavens. But what if we did have answers? What if we could ask someone? What would that be like?
The Yggdrasil Codex blends the best parts of a modern science fiction thriller with equal quantities first contact science fiction and Norse mythology.
In this life there are a great many fundamental questions that have yet to be answered. But thankfully, philosophers and scientists around the world continue to ask, and to help us make sense of them. This is such a tale.
In the Yggdrasil Codex, two young friends and scientists, both undertaking vastly different fields of study (Astrophysics and Runology), come together to help solve the greatest of life's mysteries.
While researching ancient Viking runestones at the University of Oslo in Norway, Magnus Olsen and his friend Tariq Al-Fazari, make an astonishing discovery. Their find is of such magnitude that the Norwegian and English Prime Ministers set up a joint task force and the researchers are rushed to Bletchley Park in London, historic home of the famous WWII code breakers.
Bringing together the world's greatest minds in astronomy, astrophysics, runology, history and mathematics, the team unlocks the secrets to the Yggdrasil Codex.
What happens next will rustically shift the course of human history and will ultimately have galactic consequences!
A few words from the author:
The idea for the Yggdrasil Codex struck me one day when I was walking through our garden in Virginia. I won’t tell you exactly why, but you’ll understand once you read the story. Much like any of you, I often asked myself - why? Why are we here? If there is a God, why did he/she create us? This story is my attempt at puzzling out those answers.
Many of you enjoyed the story so much that it became an Amazon best seller, and inspired me to write a series of novels which take place 115 years after the events in the Yggdrasil Codex.
